The Radisson Blu Post Lafayette is a great choice if you are planning to visit Mauritius and are looking for a smaller, adults-only and 100-room quiet hotel. It offers a number of amenities and a level of comfort that is pretty good. Their outdoor section is, by the way, absolutely excellent with a wonderful beach, access to a sea that is worth snorkeling in (amazing wildlife!) and a serviced beach area where you can sip cocktails under both palm trees and the stars. There is also a small sports center available where you can get snorkeling gear and other water sports materials.
Overall score: (4.25/5)

The hotel itself is not large (so if you want a big resort, it’s not the place for you), has a swimming pool, beach bar and restaurant, a main buffet restaurant and even a small shop. Staff are super friendly and very accommodating! I complained that my room looked a bit tired and they actually freshened it up with some paint while I was out during the day - that’s service!
The hotel is located on the far side of the island (about an hour from the airport), so it’s a bit of a drive, but the bonus is that it’s in a more secluded part of the island, offering a more tranquil environment with no real major hotels sharing its beach. Mauritius is working hard to update its infrastructure but for now you often have to use smaller roads to get to your destination.
The rooms themselves were fine, but nothing to shout about. They tend to give you a more mid-range hotel feeling, but it was clean and had all the facilities required. The view out to the ocean was a definite bonus. My advice would be to get rooms in either the main building or the small building facing the beach. There is another section of the hotel across the road and although I was not sure if it contained rooms, they will give you a different experience versus being in the main building.
The pool is also a good size but not deep at all, so it's not great for doing laps. With the hotel not being very large there were always sunbeds available, both at the pool and on the beach - great!

The beach bar area was the big winner for me. Enjoying some time off with a drink and a snack with your feet in the sand was the perfect way to spend the holiday. Again staff here were super friendly and helpful and the drinks and food were great! The hotel also organized events during the evening including a tasting session of local spirits which was a big hit and also offering live music at the beach bar area almost every night.
The buffet restaurant was a little less to my taste and at times a bit bland, but it did offer varied foods daily including a salad bar, fruits and hot meals from around the world.
The hotel also offers transportation and trips and has an agreement with a local taxi company to make cars available on demand, so you don't have to always plan ahead! Of course for larger trips that require boats or guides, it’s best to book a few days in advance.
So overall I was pretty happy. Although not every detail was always there, I do recommend the hotel as a great choice if you are looking for a peaceful place to sit back and relax.
